The Waiting Room

Such a variety of people can all be waiting for the same thing. Whether it is a doctor’s office, a law office or the airport, the opportunities for different people to meet is massive.

Exercise:

Write a story where two conflicting characters meet in a waiting room. Increase the conflict and tension by including a ticking clock. For example, if the doctor is late and the Harried Businessman has an important meeting after his appointment, he may try to push the Quiet Retiree to switch appointments.
